Sedona Wedding Cakes
Award winning wedding cake artist Donna Joy of Sedona Sweet Arts has done it again. This is such a fun, whimsical and beautiful cake. The cake is inverted and custom made for the bride and groom. The bride has allergies so Donna made the top tier of non-dairy hazelnut latte. Yummy. The sides are adorned with sugar paisleys and dots and the fan top from sugar. The adorable bride and groom penguins were provided by the bride. Donna specializes in making delicious gluten free and dairy free wedding cakes. This cake makes me smile!
Green Your Wedding
We really love to see weddings that are eco-friendly. We are seeing more couples looking for and finding ideas and ways to green their wedding. The environmental impact on just a few green choices is huge. Here are some great ideas via the wedding chicks.
These rustic stakes would make perfect aisle runners for your eco friendly wedding. Fill them with your favorite summer wildflowers or your favorite exotic stems from the local market. Handcrafted in the Philippines. 50? tall. Set of four is $48 and can be bought, At West End.
2. Plant your favorite herbs or small plants and gently wrap a burlap sac around the plant and use as a wedding favor or escort card.
3. Christian Louboutin is very focused on renewable resource for Spring, which is clearly evident in these gorgeous cork pumps. They are quite expensive around $750 and $695 for the sling back. But well worth every penny.
4. Do you love the tree trunk with the succulent in it? It is simple yet has a sleek and elegant design. Made by Takashimaya.
5. These 18K gold Vermeil band rings are delicately wrapped in hand-printed Japanese papers under a thin layer of resin, and accented with a small square of organic ground ginger in resin made by our favorite blue poppy jewelry.
These flowers, fruits, veggies, plant materials, herbs and succulents were seasonal and locally grown.

Paloma’s Nest
Many of you may be familiar with Paloma’s Nest. It is the creative work of artist Caroline Colom Vasquez. Caroline says that she is “dedicated to creating pieces for the home and for the heart” and believes that by adding text, “we give written ideas, feelings, and daydreams a place to rest”. This passion, care and dedication can be seen in every piece she creates. Her collection of wedding keepsakes can be passed on for generations. I know you will love these beautiful hand made pieces as much as I do.
Say Goodbye to February
It is still cloudy, cool and raining here in the Red Rocks. This spring inspired photo has me dreaming of warmer weather and beautiful outdoor spring weddings.

Sedona Vineyard Wedding Details
Here are some of my favorite photographs of the editorial shoot we did at Page Springs Winery. Images were captured by Sedona Bride.
See the video by Taltos Productions at http://taltosproductions.wordpress.com/ The floral is another post with so many beautiful arrangements by Bliss Floral
There were so many DIY details I loved about this shoot. The tables were set with a collection of mixed dinnerware and glassware, from my own collection. The vintage tablecloths were also part mine and some borrowed from a friend. The vintage family silverware came from home. The table numbers were made with mason jars, paste on numbers with small polka dots. The jars were filled with vintage marbles that were my friend’s grandfathers. I found a collection of very pristine Arizona postcards all written in 1937 by the same person wintering in Phoenix. I found them in Illinois where they were mailed to a friend or family member. These were used as menu cards. Place cards were small envelopes with cards. We used rub on wedding sayings on the card and hand wrote the guest name on the insert. They were attached to the French vases with colorful clothespin magnets. The vineyard setting was perfect. Van Damme Weddings is excited about designing your Sedona vineyard wedding, vintage, modern, elegant, or casual, give us a call.
A Sedona Vineyard Wedding
I am so excited to show the slide show images from the 40’s inspired vineyard wedding that we recently did at Page Springs Cellars. With a team of very talented vendors I created a wedding to promote and generate more interest in Vineyard Weddings for our destination brides as well as our local brides. The images were captured by Katrina Wallace of Sedona Bride; Floral arrangements by Bliss Extraordinary Floral; Video production by Taltos Productions; Hair and Make-Up by Patricia Vega and Event Design by Van Damme Weddings. Our models John and Cori were great fun and even got in the creek for a “trash the dress session”.
