Outdoor Sedona Wedding
Sedona brides and grooms love having their wedding ceremonies in the natural outdoor beauty of Sedona. Vibrant sandstone cliffs that are carved into exotic shapes, blue skies and changing colors frame weddings in a spectacular way. Amy and Chris chose Red Rock Crossing for their intimate elopement this spring. This location is one of the most popular settings with Oak Creek flowing through the park and Cathedral Rock as a beautiful ceremony backdrop.

Love and Dragonflies
I love a love story and this one is as good as it gets:
Donna and Dan met 20 years ago while working together. Although he lived in Arizona, Dan travelled to California frequently for business and over the next 12 years he became a great mentor and friend to Donna. They both made career changes, which took them to different parts of the country, but remained friends. Eventually they lost touch, only catching up through mutual friends.
From the bride: At a mutual friend’s urging, Dan and I reconnected via telephone in 2009. Dan had divorced and returned to Arizona; while I had never married and was living in Tennessee. We always adored one another for our paralleled values and after getting swept away on a 3-hour “catch-up” phone call, we agreed to never lose touch again and reach out to one another every month or so. Monthly phone calls turned into weekly phone calls that turned into daily phone calls. On one call, Dan said, “If you lived here, I would ask you to have dinner, have coffee, or play golf.” The air got slightly awkward for just a moment, and feeling like I needed to respond, I said, “And I would say YES, YES, and YES!”
And that was it!! The nature of our relationship shifted instantly with those four little words. About a month later I visited Dan in Arizona. We had dinner, had coffee and played golf. We knew, without reservation, that we would spend the rest of our lives together.
Four months later I moved to Arizona and we married nine months later. Engraved inside Dan’s wedding ring are the words that changed our lives…..”YES, YES & YES!!”
And the Dragonflies:
When Dan went to Tennessee to move Donna to Scottsdale their U-Haul had a big blue dragonfly painted on the side. When stopping for gas they noticed a blue dragonfly that kept buzzing around their heads. They commented that THAT blue dragonfly matched the dragonfly painted on the U-Haul truck. The second day of traveling they noticed a dragonfly that was attached to the antenna of their truck. Although the dragonfly was dead he appeared to be hanging on for dear life and stayed attached for two days. A couple of days later he was taken away with a rainstorm. After arriving in Scottsdale the couple were having coffee by the pool and looked down to see a beautiful dragonfly on the pool. That was it-Dragonflies were their talisman. Donna incorporated the dragonfly in her apple green and chocolate color palette, in the invitations and as die cut escort cards on her wine glasses. The wedding cake by Sedona Cake Couture followed the green and chocolate palette. Ken Heflin of Events by Showstoppers created Donnas’ exquisite bridal bouquet of cymbidium orchids. The bride and groom and family members enjoyed cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres on the L’Auberge de Sedona deck. Bill Barns provided guitar music. An intimate dinner in a private dining room of L’Auberge followed. Pamela Duffy photographed the event.

Summer Brilliance
Summer is here with a burst of color. Sharalee and David eloped to Sedona recently. They chose the fabulous Lodge at Sedona for their stay and held their ceremony on the lush lodge grounds. Sharalee decided against convention and wore this bright, purple/magenta and ivory dress. I love the purple shoes. Sharalee and David were fun, playful and relaxed. The Chicago couple were happy to be in beautiful Sedona.

Sedona Vineyard Wedding Featured in Arizona Vines and Wines
I am very excited to have our Sedona Vineyard Wedding featured in the 2010 spring addition of Arizona Vines and Wines magazine. The publication is fast becoming the authority for the Arizona wine industry; with coverage on vineyard news, wine reviews, recipes, and pairings.
Here are a few photos from our ’40′s inspired wedding concept shoot at Page Spring Cellars. You can see all the photos as well as the video by clicking above on videos

Sedona Vineyard Wedding Details
Here are some of my favorite photographs of the editorial shoot we did at Page Springs Winery. Images were captured by Sedona Bride.

There were so many DIY details I loved about this shoot. The tables were set with a collection of mixed dinnerware and glassware, from my own collection. The vintage tablecloths were also part mine and some borrowed from a friend. The vintage family silverware came from home. The table numbers were made with mason jars, paste on numbers with small polka dots. The jars were filled with vintage marbles that were my friend’s grandfathers. I found a collection of very pristine Arizona postcards all written in 1937 by the same person wintering in Phoenix. I found them in Illinois where they were mailed to a friend or family member. These were used as menu cards. Place cards were small envelopes with cards. We used rub on wedding sayings on the card and hand wrote the guest name on the insert. They were attached to the French vases with colorful clothespin magnets. The vineyard setting was perfect. Van Damme Weddings is excited about designing your Sedona vineyard wedding, vintage, modern, elegant, or casual, give us a call.
A Sedona Vineyard Wedding
I am so excited to show the slide show images from the 40’s inspired vineyard wedding that we recently did at Page Springs Cellars. With a team of very talented vendors I created a wedding to promote and generate more interest in Vineyard Weddings for our destination brides as well as our local brides. The images were captured by Katrina Wallace of Sedona Bride; Floral arrangements by Bliss Extraordinary Floral; Video production by Taltos Productions; Hair and Make-Up by Patricia Vega and Event Design by Van Damme Weddings. Our models John and Cori were great fun and even got in the creek for a “trash the dress session”.
